About Go Outside
The Go Outside Team share two passions; a love for travel and for the outdoors. We have hiked, run, paddled, trekked and cycled some of the most beautiful routes in South Africa.
While travelling internationally and within South Africa, and sharing the stories from our adventures with the people we meet, we always get asked the same questions – “Where did you find that place?” “Where can I get more information?” and “Can I come with next time?” So we decided to put all these details in one place – for everyone who wants to Go Outside.
Our goal is to provide first hand, up-to-date information on hiking and adventuring throughout South Africa. We hope that Go Outside will help you when organising and planning your next hiking trip, or just offer a little inspiration to Go Outside. If you do not find what you are looking for, need any additional information or need help selecting the best option for you please get in touch – we are happy to help.
Meet The Go Outside Team
Lindsey
LINDSEY is the boss at Go Outside. She has always been called towards adventure (and mischief) and has spent much of her life hiking, traveling and exploring. She decided to start Go Outside based on her own struggle to find information on the less trodden paths within South Africa.
Although she is allergic to the term ‘BLOG’ she loves the idea of sharing her hiking experiences and has been wonderfully overwhelmed with the response to Go Outside, from fellow adventurers around the world.
Lindsey’s favourite hike on Go Outside is The Whale Trail because of the amazing isolation of the hike and the unbeatable snorkeling spots.
Henry
HENRY is the IT brains behind Go Outside. He is married to LINDSEY and is therefore also the driver, security, sherpa and wallet for Go Outside.
Henry is happiest outside. He hikes, runs, cycles and swims and is always busy training for a new event. He is also a nutrition nut and all round over achiever – in fact the only thing that he is bad at is Kayaking.
Henry’s favourite hike on Go Outside is The Chain Ladder Hike because he loves the Drakensberg and he loves heights (Just Kidding – he really hates heights.)
Moscow
Moscow is the Go Outside Mascot. He is a floppy Labrador who just celebrated his first birthday. The only thing he likes more than walking and exploring new trails is eating (both food and shoes) although napping is becoming a favourite pass time as well.
He is serious about training and takes the Go Outside Team on a walk every day, to stay fit for their adventures on the trails in South Africa.
Moscow’s favourite hike on Go Outside is Faerie Glen. He loves visiting the Zebras and swimming in the river on the reserve.
